Regarding the current globalization phenomena, my question is, the current stance of many political governments around the world (going along the lines of "blending" the public with the private), can it be called fascism? And if so, if you were to put fascism in a scale, what would be the pros and cons, and towards where it would lean, as for the community vs personal interest?
Well, fascism is defined as being extremely right, to the point of totalitarianism. Personally, I feel totalitarianism is immoral, as it takes the voice of the independent person out of politics and becomes more like an autocracy. I do not feel in any way that governments around the globe are becoming more fascist, though that may just be the optimist in me. A more cynical view could perceive it as such, and governments largely ignoring the will of the people in an attempt to satiate corporations, which would have a negative impact on most personal interests, while slightly assisting community impacts, but not to a large extent.
But then again, I’m a history nerd, not a poly sci nerd.
